Max Hattler is interested in the space between abstraction and figuration, where storytelling is free from the constraints of traditional narrative. His work contemplates atmospheres, moments and microcosms: close-ups as reflections on the big picture, aesthetics as reflections on politics.
Max Hattler lives in London, where he is represented as a director by animation studio Bermuda Shorts, alongside directors like Run Wrake and Dave McKean. He is a Royal College of Art graduate (2005) and has shown his work at over 250 film festivals and exhibitions worldwide, including Annecy, Ciermont-Ferrand, Resfest and DOTMOV. |
