Albanian Anri Sala is one of the most highly regarded young video artists around. He came to international attention in 1999 for his work in After the Wall, the Stockholm Modern Museum 's exhibition of art from post-communist Europe, and in Manifesta 3 ( Ljubljana ). In contrast to the speed of mainstream media imagery, his works are meditations on slowness, characterised by a near-total absence of camera movement which almost freezes scenes into paintings, and by an attention to seemingly unimportant details.
