Working in museum, gallery and public settings Kurt Perschke pursues ideas of sculptural presence and the visualization of environments. Projects such as RedBall seek to translate that ephemeral experience into a public context while video animations like the Momentary Geometry Series pursue it more idiosyncratically. Currently a Fellow in the Bronx Museum AIM program, Kurt has recently relocated to Manhattan after two years of international and national travel for projects. In 2004 he was a resident artist in the U.S. at the Seaside Institute and Bemis Center followed by the Austrian Federal Chancellery Residency in Vienna. His Momentary Geometry Series was screened at the 2004 Kunstvlaai 5 Video Festival in Amsterdam and the Santa Fe Art Institute.
