Jessica Irish
Lightness
Jessica Irish is an artist working in video installation, interactive media and print media. Her work in new media has screened and exhibited nationally and internationally and has been featured in media such as Art Forum, METROPOLIS, RES, and Artweek magazines, as well as various international journals. She has received project funding by the Creative Capital Foundation and was one of four artists to be supported by California Arts Council in its first round of individual grants for digital media.

Jessica Irish lives and works in Boston, where she is an Assistant Professor of Art at Wellesley College, where she teaches in the areas of media arts, 3D design, and installation. She joined the faculty in 2003, to become Co-Director of the new Media Arts & Sciences program. Before this, she worked in Los Angeles, and was one of the founding principals of OnRamp Arts, a digital-arts non-profit in central Los Angeles that produces innovative new media projects in collaboration with local communities and artists. She received her MFA at UC Irvine in 1996.
